In what feels like a fragmented world, we long to connect more deeply with our hearts, each other, and with the Divine. It can be overwhelming to cultivate this connection in the midst of life’s challenges.
Join us in an experiential workshop to begin to bring the heart to life. Bring your whole self coupled with a willingness to self-reflect and to challenge old habits of thinking. We will develop practices for cultivating the spiritual heart (Qalb) and explore new ways of relating to self, others, and the Divine.
This interactive group experience will include a mix of teachings, guided practices, self-reflection, pair work and group discussion.
– Reclaim a connection to local and primordial values and ways of Being
– Begin to identify blockages in the spiritual heart that get in the way of witnessing the Divine
– Taste what it is like to experience a connection to the Divine
– Learn principles of healing from an Islamic psychology lens -Be in community with others who yearn to connect with the Qalb, or spiritual heart.
There is a need to go beyond breathing/meditating our feelings away to learning to sit in them while anchoring in our spiritual hearts.
Bringing in creative, experiential ways of relating to ourselves and one another, anchored in spiritual principles and the framework of Islamic psychology will create some to access and strengthen healing anchored in faith. Also, the group / communal set up facilitates a healing environment.
The group’s collective wisdom encourages participants to be mirrors for one another as each member strives to develop and embody new ways of being, as well as challenge old habits of thinking and relating that impede being in our spiritual hearts.
