We have many classes to choose from, beginner to advanced levels, and as we believe that yoga is for everyone, we’d like to assist you in finding the practice that suits you. Our classes foster Sangha (community), as well as compassionate enquiry of your own path.

Stretch n Snooze

Relax into the calm coziness of Angela’s signature Stretch ‘n Snooze class. In the evenings we ease into relaxation with soothing restorative yin poses. Bolsters, blankets, props, and loving inspirational words will transport you into an ethereal dreamlike state. As always accompanied by a carefully curated playlist to fully immerse yourself in tranquility. Yoga never felt so much like a warm hug before!

Ashtanga Primary Series

The Ashtanga Primary Series is called Yoga Chikitsa, meaning yoga therapy, because of the cleansing and toning effect it has on both body and mind.  On a physical level the asanas (poses) of the Primary Series build strength and flexibility in the body, loosening tight muscles and realigning and detoxifying the body and nervous system. The series begins with forward bends, then twists and hip openers with a vinyasa between each asana.

On a mental level, through regular practice focus, willpower, mind-body awareness and confidence are improved as we overcome the mental obstacles to our practice. On a subtle level the Primary series works therapeutically to clear obstacles in the energy channels in the body (known as Nadis).

This clearing of obstacles allows the Prana to flow more freely so the body and mind are therefore allowed to work more effectively.

Yoga Flow

A mindful, soothing and energizing class with emphasis on being present in your body, breath and mind. Alignment, inward focus and hands-on assisting are tools used in this class.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is like a slow dance with your body, with a lot of health benefits. A few health benefits of this moving meditation include reducing stress, improving mood, promotes weight loss, improves balance and reduces pain like arthritis and fibromyalgia. These are suitable for older practitioners or those who prefer a slow moving, low impact class. Sessions available in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

Ashtanga

A system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive set series of postures – a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.

YOGA PRINCIPLES

This class builds your foundations to start any style of yoga. The ideal place for beginners (or those looking for a refresher or a gentle pace) to join.

Beginner Yoga

In this class the basic, foundational yoga postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.

Hatha Flow

Hatha yoga refers to a set of asanas (traditional yoga postures) designed to align your skin, muscles, and bones. The postures are also designed to open the many channels of the body – especially the spine – so that energy can flow freely. Hatha yoga is a powerful tool for self-transformation. It asks us to bring our attention to our breath, which helps us to still the fluctuations of the mind and be more present in the unfolding of each moment.
Hatha Flow is a more dynamic version of the Hatha Yoga class where the transitions between asanas (postures) are more fluid and aligned with the breath.

Kids Yoga

These yoga sessions teach kids the basics of yoga,, aiding better body awareness, self-control, flexibility and coordination. Yoga can help kids and teens carry these skills beyond class into their daily routines. Designed to be interactive and great fun, we use imagery and music are used as motivational tools to encourage easy learning.

Mummy and Baby Yoga

This class focuses on strengthening the spiritual, emotional and physical bond between parent and child. Using interactive, slow-moving postures the class is ideal for mummies and babies newborn to crawling age. Mummy and Baby Yoga will help carry you smoothly through the busy early months of caring for a new baby.

YOGA THERAPY/Yoga Rx

Influenced by Iyengar Yoga style, a form of Hatha yoga emphasizing on details, precisions and alignment to safely perform a posture (asana) and breath control (pranayama).
The focus of this class will be on structural alignment of the physical body using props to enable the students to perform the asanas correctly, minimizing the risks of injury or strain, helping students relieve MSD and modern-day spinal strains and stress. This class is suitable for all levels, and accessible to beginners as well as both young and old students.

Ashtanga Intermediate

The Ashtanga Intermediate Series or second series, is known as Nadi Shodhana – meaning Nerve Cleansing. This is because of the focus on backbend asanas. The backbends encourage and maintain the suppleness of the spine and as well as working on opening the energy channels allowing Prana to flow freely. (Nadi Shodhana is also the name given to Alternate Nostril Pranayama).

While some of the earlier asanas in the sequence may be familiar to many (Locust Pose for example) the Intermediate series sequence moves onto more intense backbends, hip opening poses and headstand variations.

Power Vinyasa

is an invigorating, powerful, energetic form of yoga where yogis “flow” from pose to pose while connecting breath to movement.  The class, practiced with music, builds strength, gains flexibility, balance and mental stamina and you’ll leave feeling regenerated and renewed.

All levels welcome but not suitable for total beginners.

Vinyasa Flow

Dynamic and creatively sequenced vinyasa classes bring together gracefully fluid movements along with slightly more challenging postures and transitions. Expect to breathe, build strength, flexibility, balance, invert, play, focus, release and be more present. Please note that Advanced Vinyasa Flow has been created with the more experienced yoga practitioner in mind. Both encouragement and options will be offered to suit the student’s personal needs, allowing them to find their own edge between challenge and acceptance.

Prenatal Yoga

is designed to reduce the aches and pains during and after pregnancy in a nurturing and supportive environment. We will focus on special breathing techniques, opening of the hips, preparing the body for birth and assisting the body to recover post birth.

Kundalini

An uplifting blend of spiritual and physical practices, Kundalini Yoga incorporates movement, dynamic breathing techniques, meditation, and the chanting of mantras. Influenced by Shaktism and Tantra schools of Hinduism, the name is derived through a focus on awakening kundalini energy. Called by practitioners “the yoga of awareness”, it aims “to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others”.

Yin Yoga

A slow practice where poses are held for 3 – 10 minutes. Through these long static holds, our deep connective tissues (fascia) are stimulated and released. As we place gentle stress on different areas of the body, we stimulate the meridien lines, where chi flows, and also our parasympathetic nervous system. Using props such as bolsters, blocks and blankets, every posture is supported making the practice customised to your own anatomical shape. The sessions are focussing on organ health, mindfulness and meditation.

Power Yoga

Power Yoga varies from teacher to teacher, but they do include relatively the same framework of a fitness-based approach to a Vinyasa-style yoga.

The emphasis in each class lies in strength and flexibility, flowing through each pose using breathwork and learning how to position yourself into balances correctly.  Expect an intense internal heat and to work up a bit of a sweat.  Power Yoga is a great full-body workout, and work-in that will challenge your body and mind.  Suitable for beginners to advanced.

POWER FLOW

Geared toward yogis who are more familiar with slower paced classes and looking to move up to the next level. You will work on the vinyasas/chaturangas, alignment of standing postures and practicing a faster-paced transition through a flow series, but with a more foundational level of postures.

ASHTANGA 1.5 COMBINED

Take your Ashtanga practice to the next level in this 1.5 combined series that provides a gap between the traditional primary and second series of Ashtanga. This challenging, yet safe practice was developed by Michelle following her travels to Mysore India to counter the numerous primary series forward folds by introducing the second series backbends and many other challenging poses like some inversions that the primary series omits to do leading to a more balanced practice for the body.

The traditional jump required between primary and second series is great but with the 1.5 combined series, every asana has a modification until the body is ready for the full expression of the pose. Expect to be stretched and strengthened from head to toe in this physical practice that uses the full 90 minutes for the set series of asana.

This class uses RAD rollers and is suitable for pregnant ladies.

SPINAL FLOW

During this 60 minute class you can discover how to move your core and spine. The practice is based on returning to your natural movement and breath which is really beneficial for your heath. It is a great way is to increase blood circulation, generate energy, relieve back pain, increase core strength and become more flexible.
Timea demonstrates simple and more complex flowing movements that not only strengthen you but also help relieve tension and warm you up without making your heart race. The movements are easy to follow and you’ll feel energized afterwards.
