KG Hypnobirthing – not just for birth!

Five reasons you should be taking the KG hypnobirthing course

Knowledge IS Power

Nobody knows what your birth is going to look like (unless you really are friends with someone with a crystal ball), but KG Hypnobirthing will help you to thoroughly prepare for your babyโ€™s birth. By the end of the course you will:

  • Understand how your amazing body will work during labour and how you can best support it;
  • Have a range of techniques that you can use to stay calm and relaxed;
  • Understand some of the key procedures and policies in UAE hospitals and how these can affect your birth;
  • Learn how to question your medical team to make sure they are the best team for you and to get the information that you need about your pregnancy and birth;
  • Know what to expect during a normal delivery.

It is for ALL mums and ALL births

A common misconception is that Hypnobirthing is a way of giving birth. The most commonly held belief is that it has to be natural, with no drugs, preferably in a pool surrounded by candles and probably with butterflies and unicorns in attendance.

This couldnโ€™t be further from the truth. The KG Hypnobirthing course will provide you with a collection of tools, techniques, and knowledge that you can use to support you in ANY type of birth, whether that is a natural birth, planned c-section, unplanned c-section, VBAC, birth with drugs, birth without drugsโ€ฆthe list is endless.

Dads play an active role

From the very first session of the KG Hypnobirthing course onwards, your husband will be able to play a key supporting role in the rest of your pregnancy and birth. He will learn how to read short relaxation scripts to you that will help you to feel calm and relaxed, and at the same time enable him to communicate with your baby in a purposeful way.

Both before and during the birth, he will be your bodyguard, answering any questions from the medical team and acting as your advocate when necessary.

During the birth he will be on hand to provide emotional and physical support: offering gentle light touch massage when required; reading relaxation scripts; supporting you with your breathing and making sure you stay well-fed and hydrated.

Most importantly he will have a better understanding of what is likely to happen during the labour and birth, which means he will be less likely to feel overwhelmed and stressed.

If Dad is feeling a little skeptical about taking the course, encourage him to watch this video in which a KG Hypnobirthing dad talks about his experience โ€“ Hypnobirthing โ€“ A Fatherโ€™s View

Learn the skills and techniques that you will use for the rest of your life

During the course, you will learn a variety of techniques that will help you to enter a deeply relaxed state when in labour. The good news is that these can be applied to any situation which you find causes you stress or anxiety, or where you are concerned about feeling pain; whether it is a trip to the dentist, a job interview, helping your child cope with vaccinations or preparing for exams. By understanding how to use the techniques and why they work, you will be able to help others around you as well.

Start building your village

Giving birth in a country that we have repatriated to can be a daunting experience, particularly when we are so far away from our family and friends. Taking part in the KG Hypnobirthing course at Bodytree Studio, will give you the opportunity to meet other mummies and daddies-to-be. You will find that you make friendships that will last far beyond the arrival of your little ones.

Still not sure if KG Hypnobirthing is for you? Drop us a line! Tonya is happy to meet up with mums-to-be to chat about the course and how it might work for you.
